We are seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our Raleigh, NC office. Responsibilities include contributing to NCDOT GESC services, pre- and post-construction support in bridge design and rehabilitation, quality control of contract documents, and preparing construction plans, specifications, and technical reports. The role also involves growing our NBIS Bridge Inspection program in North Carolina, mentoring staff, managing project budgets and schedules, and participating in transportation project planning and design. Innovation and problem-solving skills are essential.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program
• 16+ years of relevant experience
• PE license in North Carolina or ability to obtain via comity within 6 months
• Experience in bridge project design, contract document preparation, and familiarity with NCDOT policies
• Experience with NCDOT Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and CMGC projects
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO bridge specifications
• Proficiency with bridge design software, MicroStation, and Open Bridge
• Experience developing contract documents, estimates, and specifications
• NBIS certification and knowledge of NCDOT bridge safety inspections are a plus
• Business development skills and client communication experience
• Ability to manage scopes, schedules, and budgets; mentoring skills; excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to travel as needed; proficient in Microsoft Office
