Job summary

Central Transport is seeking a Break Manager (Operations Manager) at our Fort Worth, TX facility to lead outbound break bulk operations in a busy cross-dock environment. You will oversee loading, unloading, forklift traffic, and freight integrity while coaching a team of 60+ dock, driver, and leadership staff.

The ideal candidate has LTL operations experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to drive safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee outbound break bulk operations within a 250-door cross-dock facility.
• Manage loading/unloading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight integrity.
• Develop and mentor dock, driver, and leadership staff toward performance goals.
• Participate in hiring and onboarding of terminal staff.
• Monitor dock production and strive to meet KPI goals.
• Maintain safety with DOT/OSHA standards.
• Support a culture of operational excellence.

Shift: 2:00pm - 12:00am (Monday - Friday)

Salary: Up to $100,000 + bonus

Break Manager (Operations Manager)

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Prior LTL management experience is strongly preferred
• Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employees
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
• High aptitude for technology
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to work 50 hours/week average
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required

Duties include, but are not not limited to:

• Oversee outbound break bulk operations within a 250-door, cross-dock freight facility.
• This includes the process of loading & unloading freight, managing forklift traffic, ensuring freight integrity and security in, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Maintain relationships with a team of 60+ dock, driver, and leadership staff within the operation; working to develop, coach, and mentor staff towards company expectations and career development goals.
• Serve as an integral part of the hiring and onboarding of new employees and terminal staff.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards
• Ensure company operational model compliance
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
• Flexibility to work varying shifts as business levels increase
