Job summary

Central Transport LLC is seeking a night-shift Operations Supervisor for our New Brunswick terminal. You will oversee dock activities, manage loading and forklift traffic, and ensure proper palletized freight handling to maximize on-time performance.

The role requires prior management and dock experience in LTL shipping, strong leadership, and a high comfort level with technology. Expect a 50-hour week, with nights and weekends as needed, and competitive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee night-time operations of the New Brunswick terminal dock.
• Manage loading, forklift traffic, and correct palletized freight sorting.
• Ensure proper carrier loads by checking cube and trailer weight.
• Provide leadership to drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production to meet or exceed KPI goals.
• Track hours and overtime while maintaining safety compliance.
• Promote a safe work environment under DOT/OSHA standards.
• Support a culture of excellence in service to customers.

Candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule of:

• Monday-Friday 6:00pm-4:00am

Salary ranges from:

• $85,000 - $100,000 + up to 15% in bonuses

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Experience in managing a team, preferably in transportation operations
• A thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience required, preferably in LTL trucking industry
• Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employees
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
• High aptitude for technology
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills
• Must be willing to work 50 hours/week average
• Must be able to work any shift including nights and/or weekends and in any weather condition
• Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-pressure environment with multiple priorities
• An associate or bachelor’s degree, preferred but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee night-time operations of our New Brunswick terminal's dock
• This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
