AV Support Engineer - (Onsite in Midtown Manhattan)
MMD Services is partnering with a global multi-billion dollar investment firm built around world-class talent and cutting-edge technology. For over 30 years their financial services have consistently delivered exceptional results to leading investors worldwide. With offices in Chicago, New York City, Miami, London, and Hong Kong and over 2,000 employees, they are adding an AV Support Engineer to their New York team.
This is a hands-on support and troubleshooting role. The environment is already designed, installed, and configured, so there is no programming or system design work here. You keep the rooms running, resolve issues while meetings are in progress, and act as the escalation point when the first-line team cannot solve something. Meeting spaces stay camera-ready and global calls run without interruption.
Given the fast-paced trading environment and the sensitive nature of financial services, this is an onsite role in New York City.
Zoom and collaboration (primary focus)
- Administer Zoom Rooms through the Zoom admin console, including room configuration, device management, settings, and firmware
- Troubleshoot Zoom Rooms endpoints live, covering audio routing, device selection, cameras, displays, and connectivity
- Support Zoom webinars and large-format meetings from setup through wrap
- Provide direct Zoom support to executives and trading floor staff
Q-SYS and AV systems
- Support and troubleshoot Q-SYS Core and connected devices at Tier 0 through Tier 2
- Locate and verify Q-SYS device addressing, confirm devices are communicating on the network, and confirm the Core is connected to Zoom correctly
- Troubleshoot audio and video signal flow across DSPs, microphones, cameras, codecs, touch panels, displays, and switching
- Own Logitech conferencing hardware, including deployment, firmware and OS updates, and hardware troubleshooting
- Provide hands-on support for high-visibility global meetings, events, and executive sessions
- Triage and resolve time-sensitive issues independently and under pressure
- Lead incident response for AV and conferencing issues and coordinate with internal teams and vendors through to resolution
- Support AV installs, room builds, refreshes, and moves as projects come up
Broader technology support (roughly 20% of the role)
- Step in on end-user technology as business needs shift, including workstation setup, imaging, monitors, peripherals, and hardware swaps
- Troubleshoot Windows 10 and 11, Microsoft Office, and general desktop issues
- Partner with distributed teams on asset management and large-scale moves
What you bring
- Current hands-on Zoom Rooms support experience with Zoom admin console access, beyond room-level use
- Recent hands-on Q-SYS support and troubleshooting experience covering the Core, device connectivity, and Zoom integration. Design and programming experience is welcome, though it is not what this role does day to day
- Hands-on Logitech experience including Sync, firmware, and hardware troubleshooting
- A track record of troubleshooting live AV independently in a demanding environment where Zoom is the primary collaboration platform
- Solid AV signal flow and AV-over-IP fundamentals, plus networking basics including TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, and DNS
- Composure in front of senior executives, with strong responsiveness, discretion, and follow-through
- Willingness to move into broader end-user support when the business needs it
Nice to have
- Sedna or a similar room scheduling and AV coordination platform
- Microsoft Intune, Azure AD (Entra ID), and endpoint management exposure
- Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of relevant technical support experience
What the firm offers
- High visibility on a small technology team with direct executive exposure
- Career progression inside a global organization
- Free catered breakfast, lunch, and snacks
- A recognizable name on your resume
