The Senior Advisor, Merchant Services is responsible for growing Merchant Services within an assigned geography. This market-facing role leads business development from initial discovery through proposal, negotiation, and signed agreement, helping businesses improve how they accept and manage payments. The Senior Advisor develops opportunities through FNBO banker referrals, centers of influence, community relationships, and direct prospecting. The role supports all customer personas, from start-ups and locally owned businesses to larger commercial and corporate clients, tailoring the sales approach and recommended solution to each customer's needs and complexity.
Build a strong, qualified pipeline through FNBO banker referrals, centers of influence, community relationships, and direct prospecting that supports current growth goals and emerging opportunities. Focus primarily on acquiring new business while deepening existing relationships and supporting appropriate client transitions. Achieve annual goals for new merchant acquisition, processing volume, revenue, and portfolio growth, as established in the applicable performance scorecard. Respond promptly to referrals and advance qualified opportunities with urgency and disciplined follow-through.
Consultative Merchant Services Sales. Develop an Uncommon Understanding of each customer's business, payment acceptance needs, financial objectives, and growth goals, and translate those insights into relevant Merchant Services solutions. Lead the sales process by identifying, qualifying, and documenting opportunities; preparing and presenting proposals; negotiating terms and options; and guiding the customer through agreement requirements. Set clear expectations regarding timing, documentation, implementation dependencies, and next steps. Tailor recommendations to the customer's size, industry, operating model, and level of complexity.
Market and Referral Development. Build trusted relationships with bankers, internal referral partners, community leaders, and centers of influence across the assigned market. Participate as an active and visible member of the communities served. Educate internal referral partners on Merchant Services products, ideal opportunities, and the referral process.
Sales Process and Performance Reporting. Use Salesforce and other sales and prospecting tools consistently to maintain pipeline visibility, opportunity quality, and data accuracy. Maintain accurate opportunity stages, next steps, expected timing, and performance information needed for pipeline reporting and forecasting. Prepare timely proposals, presentations, agreements, and other sales materials required to advance opportunities.
Cross-functional Collaboration. Partner across the enterprise to optimize referral opportunities, meet the broader needs of business customers, and support income and portfolio growth. Engage product, implementation, support, and other subject-matter experts when their involvement will strengthen the solution or customer experience. Collaborate respectfully across roles and processes, engaging the right partners at the right time and supporting clear handoffs.
Customer Experience and Relationship Expansion. Identify opportunities to deepen existing relationships and expand the use of Merchant Services solutions where they support the customer's business needs. Maintain clear communication throughout the sales and transition process and address barriers that could delay the customer experience. Coordinate with the appropriate servicing and implementation teams to support a smooth transition after the sale.
Risk Management and Compliance. Understand and comply with bank policies, applicable laws and regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program as they relate to the role. Complete required compliance training and follow established procedures and controls. Promptly report known policy, legal, or regulatory violations and suspicious customer or account activity.

Compensation range (base pay): $65,329.00-$107,794.00 This role may have a specific starting pay within this range. Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
