Phipps Houses is seeking a skilled Real Estate Accounting professional to prepare journal entries, complete GAAP workpapers, and generate audit-ready financial statements for multiple properties in New York. You will also reconcile bank accounts, analyze operating variances, and coordinate with outside auditors, with HUD/rental subsidies experience a plus.
A Bachelor’s in Accounting is required; CPA is preferred; 5–10 years of real estate accounting experience and proficiency in Yardi and Excel

It is a multi-faceted real estate organization, involved in the development, finance, construction and asset management of new and rehabilitated multi-family housing for low to middle income New Yorkers. Through its subsidiary, Phipps Houses Services, Inc., it conducts residential and some commercial property management, and it’s tax exempt affiliate, Phipps Neighborhoods, provides human services to its development communities.
Salary range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000
Respond to ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests as needed
Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting required
CPA preferred
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given
