Job summary

Middlebury College seeks an Assistant Coach, Squash to support the head coach in the men’s and women’s squash programs, mentoring student-athletes for growth as scholars and athletes on and off the court. This full-time, benefits-eligible position offers a salary range of $52,416 - $61,968 per year, pro rata, with an anticipated end date of June 30, 2027 and potential for reappointment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Experience playing and coaching at the collegiate level preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with diverse constituents.
• Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
• Maintain CPR/AED/First Aid certifications and NCAA Division III Rules Test.
• Valid driver's license; college vehicle license if requested.

Responsibilities

• Coach the technical and tactical aspects of squash in practices and competitions.
• Recruit prospective student-athletes within NCAA rules.
• Assist head coach with daily practice planning.
• Assist with travel, equipment purchasing, and budgeting.
• Mentor student-athletes in academics and personal development.
• Develop and deliver programming on mental health, DEI, leadership, and related topics.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including event management or PE classes.
