Assistant Coach, Squash
Providesupport to the head coach in all aspects of the men's and women'ssquash programs. Coach and mentor student-athletes in supportof their growth as a student-athlete and member of the MiddleburyCollege community.
This is a full-time, benefits eligible,salaried position with a hiring range of $52,416 - $61,968 peryear, pro rata. This is a term position, with an anticipated enddate of June 30, 2027 and may be eligible forreappointment.
Core Responsibilities:
- Coach thetechnical and tactical aspects of squash in practices andcompetitions.
- Recruitprospective student-athletes within the rules and regulations ofMiddlebury, NESCAC and the NCAA.
- Assist thehead coach in preparing for daily practice including but notlimited to developing daily practice plans.
- Assist thehead coach with the administration of the program including but notlimited to travel plans, equipment purchasing, and budgeting.
- Mentor andprovide support for student-athletes in support of theirdevelopment in the sport as well as in their academics and personaldevelopment.
- Assist thehead coach in developing and delivering programming relative tostudent-athlete development including but not limited to mentalhealth, DEI, leadership, sexual violence prevention, andhazing.
- Perform otherduties as assigned by the head coach or Director of Athletics insupport of the program or department. This may include eventmanagement, strength and conditioning or teaching required classesin Physical Education.
Requirements
- Bachelor'sdegree required, Master's degree preferred.
- Experienceplaying and coaching at the collegiate level preferred.
- Demonstratedability to communicate effectively with a diverse range ofconstituents through strong interpersonal skills, both written andoral.
- Demonstratedcommitment to and knowledge of issues of diversity, equity andinclusion.
- Excels inorganizational skills, computer skills, and able to prioritizemultiple tasks with attention to detail.
- Works effectively within a diverse department and team as well asindependently.
- Mustmaintain appropriate certifications in CPR/AED/First Aid and mustcomplete the annual NCAA Division III Rules Test.
- Must holdand maintain a valid driver's license and if requested a collegevehicle license.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Long and irregular hours, including early morning, nights, and weekends.
- Long hours in practice that may demand physical exertion and movingaround the practice and competition venues.
- May play squash against student-athletes as a playing partner.
- Extensive travel for recruiting and competitions.
