Job summary

Middlebury College in Vermont seeks a full-time squash coach to support the head coach in all aspects of the men’s and women’s programs, coaching and mentoring student-athletes to foster growth as athletes and scholars within the Middlebury community.

The role includes recruiting under NCAA/ conference rules, preparing daily practices, coordinating travel, ordering equipment, and contributing to program budgeting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Experience coaching at the collegiate level preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certifications and valid driver's license.
• NCAA Division III Rules Test must be completed.

Responsibilities

• Coach the technical and tactical aspects of squash in practices and competitions.
• Recruit prospective student-athletes within the rules and regulations of Middlebury, NESCAC and the NCAA.
• Assist the head coach in preparing for daily practice including developing daily practice plans.
• Assist the head coach with the administration of the program including travel plans, equipment purchasing, and budgeting.
• Mentor student-athletes in sport, academics, and personal development.
• Develop and deliver programming related to student-athlete development including mental health, DEI, leadership, and prevention of hazing and sexual violence.
• Perform other duties as assigned by head coach or Director of Athletics.
