Job summary

RegEd in the United States is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to manage both on-prem and cloud databases. You will own incidents, backups, security, and performance, collaborating with Architecture, QA, and Infrastructure teams.

The role emphasizes ownership, hands-on SQL/T-SQL work in SQL Server 2016+ and Azure SQL services. We offer comprehensive perks and a pay range of $85,000 to $120,000.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of database administration or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or higher.
• Strong T-SQL skills with complex queries, stored procedures, transactions, error handling, and dynamic SQL.
• Understanding of execution plans and query optimization techniques.
• Knowledge of backup, recovery, and HADR concepts.
• Familiarity with Azure SQL services (Azure SQL MI/DB/VM).
• Database security administration including user management and access controls.
• Ability to write and maintain SQL scripts and indexes for data analysis.
• Solid understanding of OLTP database principles.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and maintain database objects in on-prem and cloud environments.
• Monitor backup status, maintenance jobs, and index health.
• Manage database security, logins, roles, and access.
• Plan, implement, and maintain backup, restore, and recovery procedures.
• Investigate and resolve database incidents including deadlocks.
• Optimize queries and procedures with T-SQL and indexing.
• Refresh dev/test databases for QA and development.
• Assist in building and maintaining database monitoring infrastructure.
