Job summary

The OFFICE OF MANAGEMENT AND ENTERPRISE SERV in Oklahoma City seeks a skilled SQL Server Database Administrator to manage on-prem and cloud SQL Server deployments, implement high availability, and ensure data security and performance. The role emphasizes backups, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.

This position requires six years of IT/data management experience, with preferred expertise in Always On, AGs, log shipping, T-SQL, and PowerShell automation.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience in information technology or data management, or equivalent education/experience.
• Preferred: expertise with SQL Server versions 2008–2022 and performance tuning tools.
• Strong experience designing and supporting high-availability solutions (Always On, Failover Clustering, replication, log shipping).
• Advanced T-SQL, query tuning, and execution plan analysis.
• PowerShell scripting and automation of administrative tasks.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure SQL/AWS RDS/Cloud SQL) or hybrid architectures.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server instances across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Apply patches and perform version upgrades/migrations.
• Configure and manage SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS as needed.
• Monitor performance using DMVs, Extended Events, Query Store, and related tools.
• Tune queries, indexes, and execution plans for optimal performance.
• Manage backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies including Always On and AGs.
