Job summary

State of Oklahoma is seeking a Database Administrator to manage SQL Server databases, including design, maintenance, security, capacity planning, and disaster recovery. You will ensure data integrity, performance, and availability across on-prem and cloud environments.

The role requires strong T-SQL, PowerShell scripting, and experience with HA solutions such as Always On, Failover Clustering, and replication. Oklahoma City office-based, full-time position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience in information technology or data management (or equivalent education/experience).
• Expertise with SQL Server versions and performance tuning tools.
• Experience designing and supporting high-availability solutions (Always On, Failover Clustering, replication, log shipping).
• Strong T-SQL development and automation using PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Monitor performance and tune queries, indexes, and execution plans.
• Develop and implement backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies.
• Manage security, access controls, encryption, and compliance requirements.
• Perform ongoing maintenance, schema changes, and environment refreshes.
• Create scripts and automation for routine tasks; build monitoring/alerting.
