Job summary

CDW is seeking an experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator to manage enterprise SQL Server environments on-prem and in the cloud. The role emphasizes stability, security, and performance for mission-critical databases.

You will monitor, optimize, back up, and secure databases, partner with development teams on schemas and ETL, and mentor junior DBAs while leading upgrade and modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a SQL DBA in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise with Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019/2022.
• Proficiency with T-SQL, query optimization, and execution plan analysis.
• Hands-on experience with high availability/disaster recovery solutions (Always On, replication, log shipping, clustering).
• Experience with backup/recovery strategies and tools (native SQL backups, third-party solutions).
• Knowledge of security best practices, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
• Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Database Administration & Operations

• Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances (on-prem and/or cloud).
• Perform daily database monitoring, health checks, and capacity planning.
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery through clustering, replication, log shipping, and Always On Availability Groups.

Performance & Optimization

• Monitor and optimize database performance (query tuning, indexing, execution plans).

Security & Compliance

Required Qualifications
