Job description

Supporting Strategies is a trusted partner in financial operations support for small businesses. We are seeking a high- energy, responsible, and resilient Sales Development Representative (SDR) to serve as the growth engine for our sales team. As our core SDR, you will not just be executing a playbook, you will be helping us write it. You will be the critical first touchpoint for prospective clients while simultaneously working alongside sales leadership to define, build, and scale the SDR function at Supporting Strategies.

What makes this opportunity different?

Unlike standard SDR roles, you will not be boxed in by geographic territories; you will have an expansive landscape of accounts to call on nationwide. Additionally, you will enjoy the autonomy of a 100% remote work environment, trading the noise of a traditional call center for the flexibility of your home office. Because independently building a pipeline demands exceptional self-discipline, resilience, and focus, we highly value candidates with a proven track record of success in remote sales. Your primary objective is to prospect, qualify, and develop leads to build a predictable sales pipeline for the Supporting Strategies assigned Business Development team. By uncovering new opportunities and establishing initial trust, you will directly enable the team to focus on developing tailored solutions and fostering long- term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foundational Process Development: Spearhead the creation of our SDR playbook. Collaborate with sales leadership to define outreach cadences, messaging templates, and the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for seamless SDR-to-Business Development & Regional Director handoffs.
  • Targeted Outbound Prospecting: Execute high-volume outreach via phone, email, and social channels to generate qualified meetings with SMBs, specifically targeting businesses from pre-seed funding up to $50MM in annual revenue.
  • Tech Stack Optimization: Actively configure and optimize our sales enablement tools to build scalable workflows, automate tasks where possible, and collaborate with Sales Leadership and the CRM Operations team to create reporting dashboards to track early success.
  • Lead Qualification & Handoff: Serve as an initial resource to prospective clients by identifying their business needs. Seamlessly transition qualified opportunities to the Business Development team.
  • Brand & Network Expansion: Support the BDPs by actively building brand awareness and visibility for the Supporting Strategies brand.
  • Social Selling: Leverage LinkedIn and other social media marketing to run targeted brand promotion and client prospecting campaigns.
  • Data Hygiene & Metrics: Manage a consistent, predictable sales pipeline by achieving assigned conversion ratio metrics and maintaining accurate records in our CRM (HubSpot).
Desired Skills & Experience
  • 2–3+ years of outbound sales, lead generation, or SDR/BDR experience. Note: Depending on the success of this role, it serves as a natural stepping stone towards building a small SDR team. Previous experience helping developing processes, creating messaging cadences, and being a key player of an SDR team.
  • Experience or comfort level prospecting into SMBs (pre-seed to $50MM annual revenue).
  • Demonstrated and consistent record of achievement against assigned KPIs (e.g., meetings booked, conversion ratios, activity targets).
  • Proficiency in a sales enablement technology stack, including CRM software, data analysis tools, and Google Workspace. Experience with HubSpot and Apollo is highly preferred.
  • Experience utilizing LinkedIn for client prospecting.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
Personal Characteristics

We are looking for a team player who takes pride in the quality of their work and embodies the following traits:

  • Goal-Oriented Self-Starter: Highly motivated with a resilient, results-focused approach. Comfortable operating with autonomy in a "startup-like" builder environment, maintaining consistent productivity and driven by key performance metrics in a remote work environment.
  • Resilient
  • Confidence without being “Salesy”
  • Curious
  • Quick Thinker
  • Persistent
  • Active Listener
  • Positive Energy
  • Decisive Problem Solver: Analytical and quick on your feet during prospect conversations. Able to look at early data and pivot strategies.
  • Multitasker: Organized and efficient in managing a high volume of leads in a dynamic environment.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Remote Work Setting: This job is conducted via a remote, home office space. It requires a dedicated home office space and reliable internet.
  • Schedule: Work is expected to be conducted per an agreed-upon schedule during normal business hours.
  • Physical Demands: Required activities include speaking, seeing, hearing, remaining in a stationary position (standing or sitting for prolonged periods), communicating with others, and repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation with performance incentives. Base salary and uncapped commission.
  • A competitive benefits package and an unlimited paid time off policy.
  • Opportunities for continuous professional development.
  • A culture that values diversity, inclusion, and ethical sales practices.
