Job summary
Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced field technician to perform routine inspections, testing, servicing, installation and preventive maintenance of life safety systems. The role involves working with low voltage wiring, documenting inspections, and following a structured schedule.
The candidate should have 5–7 years of sprinkler system experience, NICET II and ITWBS certifications, and be able to travel and pass background checks.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years documented experience in sprinkler systems.
- NICET Level II and ITWBS.
- Able to obtain and retain licenses required by codes.
- Experience reading blueprints, submittals and manuals.
- Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
- Experience with various sprinkler systems: wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, foam.
- Capable of physical labor up to 50-70 lbs.
- Willing to travel and work on-call, nights, and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, testing, servicing, installing and preventive maintenance of life safety product lines.
- Work with low voltage wiring for operation of equipment.
- Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding.
- Follow and maintain a structured inspection schedule.
- Input, retrieve and archive inspection documentation.
- Make minor repairs and programming changes under supervision.
- Complete assigned inspections on time.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
