Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Technician to service wet, dry, and pre‑action sprinkler systems and fire pumps. You will read blueprints, move heavy equipment, and work from elevations, while maintaining safety and accuracy in documentation.

The role requires a high school diploma, 3–5 years of industry experience, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel overnight. Backflow licensing is preferred, with a competitive benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of wet, dry, and pre‑action sprinkler systems and fire pump systems.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• 3–5 years of industry experience.
• Overnight travel may be required.
• Backflow license (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Service and troubleshoot wet, dry, and pre‑action sprinkler systems; fire pump–based fire sprinkler systems; and backflows, including repairs and internal inspections.
• Read/understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.
• Carry or move equipment up to 70 pounds; climb ladders, scaffolding, and high lifts.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and wear safety equipment.
• Use Word, Excel, Outlook and iPhone apps; submit time reports and documents.
• Notify dispatcher of changes impacting activities or schedules.
• Work alternate shifts or weekends; perform other duties; work independently.
