Job summary

Fortis Fire & Safety Inc. in California is seeking a Sprinkler Construction Apprentice to join CJ Suppression.

This full-time role supports foremen and crews in installing fire sprinkler systems on diverse construction projects, from new builds to retrofits, with emphasis on accuracy and quality workmanship. As an apprentice, you will assist with pipe fabrication, operate hand and power tools, follow safety procedures, and learn company standards while gaining hands-on experience in the fire

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant fire sprinkler experience.
• Read/interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and fire codes.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to meet driving eligibility requirements with a valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and fire codes.
• Ability to perform accurate measurements and calculations.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools such as saws, drills, pipe threaders, wrenches, and lifts.
• Strong communication skills and team work.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work flex hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to maintain written and electronic documentation.
• Adherence to Cal/OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support installation of fire sprinkler systems on various construction sites, including new builds and retrofits.
• Follow safety procedures, including PPE and Cal/OSHA standards.
• Apply methods for pipe fabrication, layout, and system assembly.
• Attend safety, training, and educational meetings to improve trade knowledge.
• Demonstrate integrity and professionalism, upholding company values.
