Job summary

Performance Fire Protection, LLC is seeking motivated individuals to learn a skilled trade in fire sprinkler systems. The Apprentice/Fitter will assist the foreman with installation, repair, and maintenance of water-based sprinkler systems, primarily with the Inspections and Service division, and will receive on-the-job training.

Responsibilities include pipe preparation, cutting, threading, and equipment maintenance, reading plans, and adhering to safety guidelines on construction sites.

Qualifications

• No specific formal education requirement.
• Previous construction helper experience preferred but not required.
• English language proficiency (read, write, speak) sufficient for clear communication.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and documents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sprinkler pipes for installation, including measuring and marking.
• Cut, thread, and hammer pipe using pipe threaders.
• Dop fittings as needed and cut rods.
• Grease couplings and lubricate tools and equipment.
• Assist foreman with loading/unloading materials and equipment.
• Read plans and instructions to determine work activities.
• Work with foreman in loading/unloading materials and tools.
• Follow safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
• Travel to job sites daily.
