Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Sprinkler Helper to learn and assist with the installation and service of all forms of fire sprinkler systems and services. The role offers growth within the fire and life safety industry and requires a proactive learner willing to enroll in an apprenticeship.

You will assist technicians, read blueprints, participate in safety meetings, and coordinate with contractors to keep projects on time and within budget. Travel to local sites is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willing to enroll in Sprinkler Fitter apprentice program and grow within the Fire and Life Safety industry.
• Self-starter; able to work independently but also a team player with a can-do attitude.
• Ability to use basic hand tools.
• Willing to learn to read and comprehend blueprints, specifications, and project schedules.
• Willing to learn how to thread and groove pipe.
• Willing to travel to local job site locations.
• Be physically fit to perform the demanding work of the trade, including lifting up to 25 pounds, occasional up to 50 pounds; able to climb ladders and stand for long periods.
• Able to obtain OSHA 10 Certifications.
• Able to pass background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist Sprinkler Service Technicians with installation and coordination of overhead sprinkler systems, fire pumps, standpipes, and hose systems.
• Attend and participate in weekly job site safety meetings.
• Learn and read blueprints to help install prefabricated fire sprinkler piping.
• Occasionally communicate with contractors to keep projects on time and on budget.
• Comply with industry standard procedures and Sciens safety programs/policies.
