Job summary

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Tech for a new Springhill Suites hotel beside Carowinds. You’ll handle building, pool and grounds upkeep, plus safety and guest care to ensure memorable stays.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, basic painting, plumbing and electrical work, plus reporting to your supervisor and completing required paperwork. Flexibility for nights and weekends is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Vocational or technical training in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry or related work preferred.
• At least two years of maintenance or relevant work experience required.
• Knowledge of proper chemical handling techniques, proper maintenance techniques, requirements and use of equipment; strong mechanical aptitude and a working knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.
• Ability to operate various types of heavy maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the hotel building, pool and grounds; ensures guest rooms and public areas are in good repair.
• Performs preventative maintenance inspections and takes corrective action as needed.
• Performs minor painting, plumbing and electrical work and routine equipment repairs.
• Communicates status of repairs, inventory, guest complaints, losses and unusual situations to supervisor.
• Completes forms and department paperwork and follows procedures.
• Provides guest service in line with Six Flags standards when interacting with guests or staff.
• Meets scheduling availability, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Job description

$18-19 per hour!

As a Maintenance Tech you will be responsible for all building, pool and grounds maintenance of a new 130 room Springhill Suites hotel adjacent to Carowinds Amusement Park. You will also be responsible for safety and security within the building and grounds while ensuring guests are well cared for and have a memorable stay experience.

• Maintains the hotel building and equipment and ensures guest rooms are in complete working order and public areas are free from unsightly maintenance blemishes.
• Ensures that all public areas including hallways, pool area, fitness center, sports courts, banquet spaces, stairways, public restrooms, public access and lobby areas are in good repair and mechanically sound.
• Conducts preventative maintenance inspections as assigned and takes corrective action as appropriate.
• Performs minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities; makes routine repairs to hotel equipment.
• Communicates with supervisor regarding status of repairs, guest rooms, inventory levels, guest complaints, losses and any unusual situations to maintain smooth operation.
• Completes various forms and department paperwork and follows all department operational procedures.
• Provides guest service according to Six Flags standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
• Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
