Job summary

Genentech in Hillsboro, OR is offering a 2027 Spring Intern position in Quality Control. The intern will join the QC team to support continuous improvement, collect and analyze process data, and help design solutions with cross-functional colleagues.

This on-site internship runs six months at 40 hours per week, with a location-based stipend to offset costs. The role emphasizes participation in QC meetings, development of KPI dashboards, and mapping of processes to identify waste and efficiency

Qualifications

• Experience in Process Development, Quality Control, Engineering, Manufacturing, or Technical Services.
• Strong ability to collect, analyze and interpret data to identify trends and inefficiencies.
• Strong problem solving mindset and demonstrated capability to solve problems leveraging a systematic approach with data.
• Demonstrated understanding of project management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively document findings, present data, and collaborate with team members.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in QC Improvement meetings and support Structured Problem Solving initiatives to help the team implement solutions that eliminate root cause contributing to performance challenges.
• Attend daily cross functional meetings to support Quality Control teams to deliver on daily plans related to product testing, environmental testing, maintenance, and validation of equipment and methods.
• Assist in the design, collection, and analysis of process data to enable improved understanding of QC capacity and performance.
• Support developing tools and dashboards to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify trends.
• Participate in mapping Quality Control processes and workflows to map processes, identify waste and improvement opportunities.
• Support 5S and Lean initiatives in the laboratory including improving tools leveraged at daily huddles, material flow, and simplified processes.
