Genentech in Hillsboro is seeking a 2027 Summer Intern for the Quality Control team. This paid, intensive six-month internship offers exposure to process improvement, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize QC performance.
You will assist in collecting and analyzing data, developing dashboards, and mapping processes while supporting Lean initiatives and 5S in the laboratory. Starts May/June and includes a location-based stipend.
Position Summary The intern will have the opportunity to join HTO's Quality Control Team as a business analyst to support continuous improvement initiatives focused on delivering performance and increased efficiency. The role will be responsible for working with cross functional teams to assist in the collection and analysis of process data, brainstorming innovative solutions, and supporting the design and implementation of improvements.
This internship position is located in Hillsboro, on-site.
Actively participate in QC Improvement meetings and support Structured Problem Solving initiatives to help the team implement solutions that eliminate root cause contributing to performance challenges.
Attend daily cross functional meetings to support Quality Control teams to deliver on daily plans related to product testing, environmental testing, maintenance, and validation of equipment and methods.
Assist in the design, collection, and analysis of process data to enable improved understanding of QC capacity and performance.
Support developing tools and dashboards to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify trends.
Participate in mapping Quality Control processes and workflows to map processes, identify waste and improvement opportunities.
Support 5S and Lean initiatives in the laboratory including improving tools leveraged at daily huddles, material flow, and simplified processes.
Intensive 6 months, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
Program start dates are in May/June (Summer).
A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.
Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Oregon is $25.00-$52.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
