TECO Energy's Tampa Electric Company invites a college student to join the Spring 2027 Utility Accounting Student Program in Tampa, FL. The role focuses on ERP accounting, general ledger processing, and journal entries, with hands-on work in a professional office.

You will prepare journal entries, process payments, create invoices, respond to audit requests, and assist with month-end close, while receiving mentorship and project-based learning.

Qualifications

• The successful applicant should be enrolled in an accredited university as a college undergraduate or a graduate level post-secondary educational program in a related discipline.
• A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and basic accounting concepts.

Position Summary / Details:

Responsible for executing corporate accounting activities related to Tampa Electric Company and its affiliates, including enterprise-wide accounting with a focus in ERP accounting systems, general ledger processing and journal entry creation. Responsibilities include cash clearing processes, specific accounting, and analysis, and supporting other financial and regulatory reporting requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:
