Mercor is seeking data analysts and spreadsheet specialists for a research project with a leading AI lab. You will work 10-20 hours weekly on real data analysis workflows using a Mac, benchmarking and improving AI models.

The role emphasizes clear reasoning, strong communication, and hands-on data tasks. Ideal candidates are pursuing a Masters or have 2-3 years of relevant experience plus a Bachelor's from a prestigious institution, with advanced spreadsheet skills and familiarity with SQL or BI

Formación

• Own a MacBook or Mac with M-series/Intel, macOS 15+, required.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Numbers, and/or Google Sheets (pivot tables, lookups, charts, data cleaning).
• Experience with SQL, Python/R, or BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
• Pursuing Masters or 2-3 years of relevant experience + Bachelor from a prestigious institution.

Responsabilidades

• Part-time commitment of approximately 10-20 hours per week.
• Complete and narrate real data analysis and spreadsheet tasks on your Mac to create high-quality training data for advanced AI models.
• Responsibilities are clearly structured with no high-pressure internship or full-time consult­ing expectations.

Role Overview:

Mercor is looking for data analysts and spreadsheet specialists with 2-3 years of experience, or currently enrolled postgrad students in a quantitative field, to support a research project with a leading AI lab. You will work through real data analysis workflows on your own Mac to help benchmark and improve cutting-edge AI models.

Qualifications:

• Required: You must own a MacBook or Mac with an Apple M-series chip or Intel processor, running macOS 15 or higher. Applicants without a Mac cannot be considered.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Numbers, and/or Google Sheets (pivot tables, lookups, charts, data cleaning, financial or operational models)

• Experience with SQL, Python/R, or BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus

• Currently pursuing or recently completed Masters studies, or have 2-3 years of relevant experience + Bachelors from a prestigious institution

• Ability to clearly explain your reasoning while you work

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
