Job summary

API Heat Transfer in Racine is hiring a Painter/Assembler for the 1st shift (5:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.). Starting hourly rate is $19+. Health benefits from day one, a generous PTO plan, and holidays are offered.

Responsibilities include reading pick sheets, applying coatings with spray equipment, and inspecting finishes. You will maintain equipment, follow safety protocols, and prepare units for shipment per blueprints.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and use a tape measure.
• Must be able to wear a respirator.
• Familiarity with Plex or similar order-tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand pick sheets to pull parts for assembly.
• Operate spray painters and other equipment to apply coatings to metal or plastic components.
• Monitor drying and curing processes to ensure proper finish.
• Inspect painted items for quality and correct defects.
• Maintain and clean painting equipment and work area.
• Follow safety protocols, including respirator use.
• Prepare units for shipment and label as required.
• Ensure proper quality at each step and report issues.
