Job summary

City of Temple seeks an Athletic Program Attendant to lead recreation activities, supervise participants, and help maintain equipment and facilities. The role requires flexible hours, weekend availability, and strict adherence to safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include setting up equipment, refereeing games, keeping score, and assisting with special events. Basic office duties, reports, and ensuring clean facilities are also part of the job; a valid driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of 2 years of high school is required.
• 1 year of related field experience preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with athletic leagues, programs, rental facilities, and special events.
• Set up and tear down athletic equipment for fields and gym (nets, flags, markers, goals, courts).
• Ensure safety of program participants and enforce park rules.
• Keep score for basketball, softball, kickball, volleyball, and other sports; referee games as needed.
• Perform cleaning of equipment and facilities; handle daily office tasks (filing, phones).
• Open/close fields and gym during pre-dawn or after-hours; manage inventory and reports.
