Job Summary:
The Sports & Recreation Manager is responsible for the Recreation and Sports Departments encompassing child and adult sports leagues, youth development programming and childwatch program. As the Sports & Recreation Manager, you will lead and develop the staff to provide a sustainable level of excellence in character, member experience and execution of job duties ensuring the highest level of member service and quality programming, all while administrating all policies and programs related to the Sports & Recreation department.Responsibilities:
Be responsible for the daily operation and management of the Sports & Recreation department across the entire client account.
Run all leagues and events as well as managing usage of the on-campus sports facilities.
Report to the General Manager and work to ensure successful and sustainable operations while maintaining alignment with growth strategies across the account.
Facilitate daily operations of the sports & recreation programs
Facilitate daily operations of the Childwatch Area
Hire, manage, and lead Recreation Team to support our Youth and Adult Recreational Leagues
Schedule leagues and maintain roster signups and databases
Create facility schedules and organize facility usage
Maintain weekly organized games and events
Manage inventory of all sport facilities and equipment
Positive daily interaction with users to provide consistent high quality experience
Align with client and account goals to increase user satisfaction and ensure program success
Spend time hands on leading programming and leagues
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Recreation, or a related field.
1+ years of experience in sports management, recreation operations, intramural activities, or customer service (relevant internships considered).
Current Infant / Child / Adult CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or equivalent tools.
Passion for sports, fostering community, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Proven ability to mentor and coach team members while building strong relationships.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an outgoing personality and a talent for providing outstanding customer service.
Per pay transparency requirements, the compensation for this position ranges from $21.63/hour to $33.65/hour. Minimum rates may vary based on local wage laws. Pay is dependent on factors including site location, specialty, certifications and work experience as well as other business needs.
