Job summary

Sedalia Parks & Recreation is seeking a Recreation Supervisor – Sports and Athletic Facilities to plan, coordinate, implement, and oversee youth and adult sports leagues, tournaments, clinics, and facility operations for Sedalia.

This role ensures safe, high‑quality recreation experiences and handles facility scheduling, staff supervision, and liaison work with outside organizations. Evening, weekend, and holiday hours are required, with strong leadership and customer service essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Education, Business, or related field preferred; or related experience.
• Knowledge of recreation and athletic program operations including scheduling, facility coordination, and staff supervision.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required or obtained within 60 days of employment; background screenings may be required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, implement, and oversee youth and adult sports leagues, tournaments, clinics, and athletic programming.
• Develop and manage facility schedules, assign staff, and coordinate with outside organizations.
• Prepare and monitor operating budgets, revenue projections, and invoicing for programs and facilities.
• Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate seasonal staff and officials.
• Maintain safety, customer service, and compliance with department policies during events and activities.
