Job summary

The Portland Sports Complex, operated by The Sports Facilities Companies, is seeking a Local Programming Coordinator to oversee youth and adult leagues, clinics, and tournaments in Portland, TX.

You will collaborate with multiple departments, recruit staff, manage registrations and budgets, and ensure high-quality programming. Flexibility for evenings and weekends is required, with on-site duties at the Portland facility.

Qualifications

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in recreation, sports management, event management, education, business, or related field preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered
• 1-2 years of experience in recreation, sports programming, community programming, event management, hospitality, education, facility operations, or related field preferred
• Proven track record of developing, marketing, and selling recreation and training programs
• Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and negotiating skills
• Team player with strong communication and computer skills
• Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends, nights, and holidays
• Current CPR/First Aid certifications or willingness to obtain within a specified period
• Experience coaching/teaching both youth and adult sports

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of youth and adult leagues, camps, clinics, and tournaments
• Manage registration, rosters, schedules, rules, and program guidelines
• Schedule coordination based on availability, tournaments, rentals, and facility activities
• Serve as primary contact for participants, parents, coaches, officials, instructors, and partners
• Recruit and coordinate officials, instructors, coaches, and staff with leadership
• Track participation, revenue, expenses, retention, and program performance; report to leadership
• Assist with program budgets and monitor related costs
• Collaborate with Marketing to promote programming and identify opportunities
• Provide on-site program support and handle scheduling conflicts and rule questions
• Build relationships with schools, clubs, community groups, and partners
• Support hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling of part-time staff
• Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
