Job summary

Portland Sports Complex, a premier sports and entertainment venue in Portland, TX, is seeking a General Manager to lead operations and financial performance. You will drive growth, oversee food and beverage and event operations, and build a culture of accountability and service.

The role requires strong P&L management, 7+ years of leadership experience, and a track record in coordinating tournaments, corporate events and partnerships with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Prior responsibility in daily P&L management and budget oversight of $2 million+.
• Experience organizing, booking, and operating sports tournaments and events.
• Knowledge of food & beverage, sport travel tournaments, and community programming.
• Experience with convention & visitor bureaus or regional event management.
• Minimum of 7 years of management experience.
• Ability to integrate work teams to achieve goals.
• Knowledge of risk management and incident reporting.

Responsibilities

• Analyze operations to evaluate performance and cost areas.
• Appoint department heads and delegate responsibilities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and staff to implement improvements.
• Coordinate budgetary control systems and recordkeeping.
• Direct financial and budget activities to fund operations.
• Oversee human resources and leadership of major departments.
• Lead policy development and productivity enhancement efforts.
• Prepare reports on expenses, budgets, and legal matters.
• Represent the organization at official functions and with partners.
• Oversee site location selections and equipment provisioning.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and event rights holders.
