Job summary

Family Health Centers of San Diego is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to support the Sports Medicine and Podiatry Cast Clinic. This role will perform 70% Medical Assistant duties and 30% Orthopedic Technician duties, involving casting, bracing, and related patient care.

Applicants should possess a High School Diploma or GED, Orthopedic Health Technologist certification, and CPR/BLS or ACLS. The position is Regular Part Time with a competitive benefits package and salary range of $23.50 to

Qualifications

• Experience in an outpatient orthopedic cast clinic or similar medical setting preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of casts and braces, materials, and applications.
• Ability to provide direct patient care for casts, braces, splints.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with orthopedic injuries and casting procedures.
• Apply and remove casts and splints; adjust as needed.
• Prepare sterile fields; set up clinics and maintain records.
• Document care, progress, and patient information in the medical record.
• Ensure equipment safety and report issues to leadership.
