Job summary

Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space is seeking a full-time Park Maintenance Supervisor to lead a crew of park maintenance workers and seasonal staff. The role includes supervising work, ensuring safety, and performing semi-skilled maintenance on sports facilities and park areas.

The position offers U.S. retirement options via Nevada PERS and a comprehensive benefits package. A CDL may be required and OSHA 30 certification is listed among prerequisites.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to High School graduation or GED; AND three (3) years of landscaping maintenance or sports field management experience.
• Ability to lead a crew, train staff and conduct performance reviews.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provides lead direction, training and work review to a work crew; assigns and coordinates tasks.
• Ensures safety precautions are observed; instructs workers in safe procedures.
• Constructs, repairs and maintains park facilities and equipment; irrigations systems and landscaping upkeep.
• Operates and maintains landscaping tools and equipment; reads plans and blueprints.
• Inspects areas for hazards; maintains records of work performed and attendance.
• Responds to public inquiries; maintains a courteous, cooperative workplace.
