Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Proposal and Award Generalist in Hershey, PA to provide faculty-facing pre-award research administration support for an expanding sponsored-program portfolio.

You will assist investigators and department leadership with proposal intake, budgeting, submission planning, sponsor requirements, and cross-functional communication with college and university research units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 6+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination
• Experience supporting proposal development and sponsored programs is preferred
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Search for, obtain, and distribute funding opportunities using expertise databases
• Collaborate with college/unit offices on funding opportunities requiring special handling
• Lead and/or participate in meetings with faculty or department heads on funding opportunities
• Provide recommendations to improve proposal success rate and effectiveness of award management
• Prepare and submit budget documents for awarded funds and cost sharing
