Job summary

Penn State is seeking a Proposal and Award Generalist in Hershey, PA to provide faculty-facing pre-award research administration support for the Department of Medicine's sponsored-program portfolio. You will assist investigators through proposal intake, budgeting, submission planning, and cross-functional coordination.

The role requires coordinating with Office of Sponsored Programs and College/university partners, ensuring compliance with guidelines and timely proposal development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination.
• Experience with sponsored programs and pre-award research administration.
• Ability to interpret sponsor requirements and coordinate budgets.
• Strong communication with faculty and department leadership.

Responsibilities

• Pursue, administer and conduct sponsored programs; identify funding opportunities and facilitate proposal preparation.
• Review awards for items specific to faculty, department, and college/unit; ensure compliance with guidelines.
• Prepare and submit budget documents; manage cost centers and fund numbers; assist with labor distribution.
