Job summary

University of Missouri, St. Louis is seeking a Sponsored Programs Specialist to support management of sponsored programs, contracts, and grants across federal, state, local, foundation, nonprofit, and other agencies. The role collaborates with faculty and sponsors to ensure compliance and accurate processing of awards.

The position emphasizes detailed documentation, customer service, and adherence to university and sponsor regulations within a 40-hour workweek.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides administrative support for management of sponsored programs, grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements.
• Assists pre-award and post-award staff members.
• Reviews documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with University and sponsor requirements.
• Maintains records and supporting documentation related to sponsored programs.
• Reviews and processes subaward invoices for accuracy, allowability, and compliance with contractual requirements.
• Identifies discrepancies and works with appropriate stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Supports compliance reviews as needed.
• Performs routine analytical assignments using established procedures and guidelines.
• Responds to inquiries from faculty, staff, sponsors, and other stakeholders regarding procedures and requirements.
• Provides excellent customer service with timely, accurate, and professional assistance.
• Keeps knowledge of applicable policies and sponsor regulations; serves as a resource to internal stakeholders.
• Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency within processes.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
