Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support for management of sponsored programs, grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements.
  • Assists pre-award and post-award staff members.
  • Reviews documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with University and sponsor requirements.
  • Maintains records and supporting documentation related to sponsored programs.
  • Reviews and processes subaward invoices for accuracy, allowability, and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Identifies discrepancies and works with appropriate stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Supports compliance reviews as needed.
  • Performs routine analytical assignments using established procedures and guidelines.
  • Responds to inquiries from faculty, staff, sponsors, and other stakeholders regarding procedures and requirements.
  • Provides excellent customer service with timely, accurate, and professional assistance.
  • Keeps knowledge of applicable policies and sponsor regulations; serves as a resource to internal stakeholders.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency within processes.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Description
JOB SUMMARY

The Sponsored Programs Specialist performs critical administrativework supporting the management of sponsored programs, contracts,and grants funded by federal, state, local government, foundation,nonprofit, and other sponsoring agencies. Supports pre-award andpost-award operations by applying established policies, procedures,and compliance requirements to ensure the accurate processing,monitoring, and administration of sponsored projects. Workscollaboratively with faculty, staff, sponsors, and campus partnersto ensure adherence to University and sponsor regulations.Exercises sound judgment, attention to detail, and customer serviceskills in support of the University's research and sponsoredprogram activities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Shift

40 hours/week

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education andexperience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparableknowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ademonstrated ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work individually and in a team environment
  • Excellent time management, follow-through, organizationalskills, and attention to detail
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, including extensive andadvanced use of MS Excel and MS Word
Anticipated Hiring Range

$45,968 - $65,520
