Job summary

UT Health Sciences seeks an Executive Director Sponsored Award to lead financial administration of sponsored awards from acceptance to closeout. You will own internal controls, oversee reporting, cost transfers, and subrecipient monitoring, and ensure audit readiness.

This role collaborates with Research Administration and institutional leadership. Requires a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance (Master’s preferred) with four years in grants accounting or related experience, plus deep knowledge of

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration; master’s preferred.
• 4 years minimum in grants and contracts accounting, reporting, and compliance.
• Strong knowledge of federal awards and internal control design.

Responsibilities

• Designs and maintains the internal control framework for sponsored award operations.
• Establishes approval authorities and delegation thresholds for financial activities.
• Ensures accuracy and timeliness of sponsor financial reports, invoices, and cash draws.
• Directs indirect cost recovery, rate studies, and negotiations with the Controller.
• Maintains capacity models relating awards, expenditures, and staffing.
