Job summary

Fiber Technologies Solutions, LLC, as a Coax Splicer, you’ll work in telecommunications construction, splicing coaxial system networks for internet, cable TV, and telephone services. We offer weekly paychecks, PTO, parental leave, holidays, 401(k) with company match, stock purchase plan, education reimbursement, and insurance options.

You’ll perform cable upgrades and splicing both aerial and underground, test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment, and document work in daily reports.

Qualifications

• Six months of coax splicing experience or one year in telecom industry.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• Valid state driver's license with clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and obtain medical card.
• 18+ years old; authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Under guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment after installation.
• Ensure splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Safely work at heights and in varied environments from underground to aerial.
• Perform basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks.
• Document work in daily production reports, maps and material usage records.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation
• Ensure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
• Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be considered Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• Six months of coax splicing experience or one year of experience in the telecommunications industry

Additional Qualifications

• Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber, is preferred

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work in confined space, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds, use keyboard and mouse
• Occasionally: use ladder and gaffs for climbing poles
