Job summary

AdventHealth in Denver, CO is hiring a Surgical Technologist for a full-time day shift. The role assists with procedures, prepares equipment and supplies, and ensures aseptic technique and regulatory compliance across the surgical team.

You will contribute to patient safety, support staff training, and help maintain infection control standards while collaborating with physicians and hospital departments.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Associate degree preferred; technical/vocational school may apply.
• Currently enrolled or successful completion of an approved school for Surgical Technology.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• 2+ years of technical experience in the field preferred; 1+ years preferred.
• Knowledge of aseptic/sterile techniques and surgical instrumentation.
• Ability to read and comprehend English; effective written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Anticipates surgeon needs and communicates with circulating nurse during procedures.
• Assembles supplies, equipment, and medications prior to procedures.
• Maintains high standards for cost savings and containment.
• Supports satisfaction of customers and employees; manages relationships with staff and physicians.
• Monitors aseptic technique and corrects any breaks in technique.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and safety in the surgical environment.
• Supervises team members and assists with orientation and education.
• Promotes a safe environment and handles emergency situations.
• Follows infection control policies and PPE usage.
• Participates in quality improvement and practice changes.
