Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; CPR/BLS certificates.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant program or certified orthopedic tech preferred.
• Two years orthopedic experience preferred.
• Three years medical office experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for visit; directs to exam or X-ray room and assists with positioning.
• Interviews patients; records histories and may order X-rays per provider order.
• Assists providers during examinations; handles dressings, injections, casts, and lab prep.
• Generates prescriptions and orders; inputs into EMR; schedules follow-ups and tests.
• Manages surgery scheduling coordination and pre/postoperative appointments.
• Maintains exam rooms; cleans and sterilizes instruments; handles documentation in EMR.
• Triages patient inquiries via phone or portal and communicates action plans.
• Performs miscellaneous duties per Providers, RNs, and managers.
