You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including engineers, analysts, marketers and athletes to design a digital prototype and deliver engaging educational material for youth aged 6–13.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in BS program education-related field; or similar that provides experience in development of education and course curriculum.
  • Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team; experience preferred.
  • High attention to detail; excellent communication skills and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze research programs and data.
  • Knowledge of basic premises of human performance and practical understanding of injury prevention, physical conditioning and recovery.

Responsibilities

The Office of Economic Innovation and Partnerships (OEIP) at the University of Delaware (UD) is seeking an Education Specialist with a broad range of knowledge and skillsets to join an interdisciplinary team of engineers, business analysts, marketing specialists, healthcare specialists and athletes to work together as an interdisciplinary team with an innovative company seeking to leverage their existing live, in-person human performance training program to establish a scalable [digital] system to effectively reach young audiences.

The student team will work as an independent team, in close consultation and under the guidance of experts and mentors, to design and develop innovative ideas for the digital delivery of curriculum rooted in the science of Human Performance. The team will conduct marketing and business research, analyses and develop an interactive, software or web-based prototype with the objective to make learning about health and human performance engaging, interactive, and exciting for young audiences.

This Spin In® team will be based in a dedicated space located at the Fintech Innovation Hub on the UD STAR campus. Weekly team meetings required; live, in-person format.

Position as an Education Specialist:

Responsibilities entail taking part in a collaborative product development team to research, design, plan and develop an interactive, software or web-based prototype of the specific product with purpose of delivering health and human performance content in an engaging way. This will include:

  • Develop a clear understanding of the existing product and service, and the field of human performance.
  • Identify and analyze existing solutions and competing products and services.
  • Engage with the Business and Marketing Specialists to conduct market research and analysis to establish need/drive for new solution(s) for human performance for children aged 6-13.
  • Gain keen understanding of Titus Human Performance and Champions’ existing curriculum content and convert material into a digital, interactive delivery format that aligns with best practices in education and learning.
  • Work with Development Team to develop digital delivery system (i.e. website, mobile application) an ensure the product and material includes, but is not limited to:
    • Interactive with the ability to sustain engagement while reinforcing concepts and tracking process;
    • Provides a seamless user experience;
    • Recognizes interactive elements that are intuitive for younger children, as well as older children (broad age range, i.e. 6-13)
    • Integrates creative multimedia elements, such as gamification, animation, video clips, etc.
  • Internally validate the product and material; work with Titus Human Performance and Champions representatives to develop a method to validate progress, testing, collection of data and assessment of feedback.
  • Work with team to ensure that project is deliveredon target according to the requirements and with the highest quality.
  • Enrolled in BS program education-related field; or similar that provides experience in development of education and course curriculum.

  • Knowledge and familiarity with the basic premises of human performance withpractical understanding of injury prevention, physical conditioning, and recovery techniques through hands‑on experience with athletic training programs, enhancing overall performance and well‑being, a plus.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Hands on experience as a student athlete and have worked collaboratively with teammates to achieve common goals comma both on and off the field.
  • Understanding Student‑Athlete Motivation and Engagement: Skilled in identifying the unique motivations, challenges, and interests of student‑athletes, leveraging this insight to create tailored programs and initiatives that foster engagement, enhance performance, and promote well‑being both academically and athletically.
  • Understanding of NIL and Student‑Athlete Support: Familiar with the integration of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities within athletic programs, ensuring student‑athletes are supported in navigating these opportunities while maintaining compliance and balancing their academic and athletic commitments.

The successful candidate will be a personally motivated self-starter; and can also work with little guidance. Must have ability to actively engage with other members on the team, including students, peers, mentors, and experts to further develop his or her knowledge to solve work related challenges. The candidate must be capable of contributing and achieving in a small, highly collaborative, consensus-driven team. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.

Terms and Conditions:

This paid position begins immediately and runs through the May 2027 (Spring Semester). Average hours of 15 hours per week. Dates will be finalized during hiring process. Rate of pay is $16.00 per hour.
