Job summary

ASML Wilton Factory is seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join the Optical Fabrication team. You will support daily manufacturing operations, drive continuous improvement, and partner with engineering, quality, and production teams to advance equipment capability and product performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of optical fabrication process engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with optics fabrication techniques including CNC machining, polishing, and surface inspection.
• Proficient in root cause analysis (RCA) and lean manufacturing tools.
• Familiarity with metrology techniques and quality assurance in optics manufacturing.
• Demonstrated ability to lead problem-solving initiatives and implement process improvements.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills across departments.

Responsibilities

• Champion a safety-first culture by identifying hazards and implementing risk mitigation.
• Develop complex spherical optics on precision CNC generators, polishers, and centering machines.
• Implement advanced machining strategies and tooling designs for continuous improvement.
• Optimize cycle times, toolpaths, feeds/speeds, and work holding for quality and throughput.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and implement sustainable solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve machining issues related to tooling, fixturing, programming, and equipment behavior.
• Analyze machining performance using SPC, capability studies, and data-driven problem solving.
• Define process specifications and control limits; use JMP/Minitab for capability evaluation.
• Perform hands-on process trials and support qualification of new equipment and materials.
• Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for quality deviations or nonconformances.
• Drive 5S and workplace organization around CNC areas.
