Job summary

TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. The SLP will evaluate cognitive-communication, swallowing, voice, speech, hearing, and language, and manage all aspects of patient care in collaboration with physicians.

Responsibilities include videofluoroscopic swallow studies, development of treatment plans, and education of patients and families. Tennessee licensure and BLS certification within 30 days are required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
  • Current Tennessee SLP license required.
  • AHA BLS certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform videofluoroscopic swallow studies per policy and procedure.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment programs in consultation with physicians.
  • Treat patients in accordance with Speech-Language Pathology standards of care and practice.
  • Conduct bedside swallowing evaluations and communicate results promptly to the team.
  • Create teaching plans based on learning needs and involve family as appropriate.

Speech Language Pathologist

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)is responsible forperforming comprehensive patient evaluations of cognitive-communication, swallowing, voice, speech, hearing, and/or language, as ordered by physicians.You willbe responsible forall aspects of patient care including evaluation, plan of care, treatments, education of patient/family, communication with physicians, and documentation of patient care.

What you will do in this role:
  • You will complete videofluoroscopicswallow studies according to policy and procedure in a safe manner
  • You will develop and implement effective treatment programs in consultation with physicians.
  • You will treat patientsin accordance withSpeech/Language Pathology standards of care and practice.
  • You will perform evaluations such as bedside swallowing evaluations, accurately andcommunicatesresultstimelyto allappropriate membersof the healthcare team.
  • You will formulate a teaching plan based onidentifiedlearning needs andevaluateseffectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching asappropriate.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with Patient, Staff, Physicians, Community
  • Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology
  • Current SLP license in state of Tennessee
  • AHA BLS certification within30 daysof employment
