Job summary

TriStar Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, TN, is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop integrated treatment plans for cognitive-communication, swallowing, voice, and language disorders. You will collaborate with physicians and family, document care, and contribute to patient education.

The position requires a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, Tennessee SLP licensure, and BLS certification within 30 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with patients, staff, physicians, and the community.
• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Current SLP license in the state of Tennessee.
• AHA BLS certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive patient evaluations of cognitive-communication, swallowing, voice, speech, hearing, and language as ordered by physicians.
• Develop and implement effective treatment programs in consultation with physicians.
• Treat patients in accordance with Speech/Language Pathology standards of care and practice.
• Perform evaluations such as bedside swallowing evaluations and communicate results to the healthcare team.
• Formulate a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluate effectiveness with family involvement.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for performing comprehensive patient evaluations of cognitive-communication, swallowing, voice, speech, hearing, and/or language, as ordered by physicians. You will be responsible for all aspects of patient care including evaluation, plan of care, treatments, education of patient/family, communication with physicians, and documentation of patient care.

What you will do in this role:

• You will complete video flouroscopic swallow studies according to policy and procedure in a safe manner
• You will develop and implement effective treatment programs in consultation with physicians.
• You will treat patients in accordance with Speech/Language Pathology standards of care and practice.
• You will perform evaluations such as bedside swallowing evaluations, accurately and communicates results timely to all appropriate members of the healthcare team.
• You will formulate a teaching plan based on identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching as appropriate.

What qualifications you will need:
