Job summary

Recover-Care Healthcare is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech or language disorders within a skilled nursing facility. You will formulate individualized treatment programs and provide direct patient care under a physician’s direction.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Masters or Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology.
• State license as a speech pathologist required.
• Proficiency with all applicable state, federal, and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, hearing, cognitive, or swallowing issues.
• Under a physician’s direction, provide direct patient/resident treatment based on established plan of care.
• Screens and evaluates residents and develops appropriate care plan.
• Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication and/or swallowing or cognitive problems.
• Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
• Instructs residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
• Maintains patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
• Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.

Education and Experience
