Job summary

Recover-Care Healthcare in Kansas is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech and language disorders, and to formulate individualized treatment programs.

Under a physician's direction, you will provide direct patient care in SNF settings, develop care plans, administer tests, educate residents and families, and maintain accurate records while adhering to state and federal standards.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology required.
  • State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist required.
  • Familiarity with standards for SNF/rehabilitation settings.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive, or swallowing issues.
  • Under physician direction, provide direct patient care based on a plan of care.
  • Screens residents and develops appropriate care plans.
  • Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatments to restore communication skills.
  • Administer, score, and interpret speech/hearing tests.
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on practicing new skills.
  • Complete forms and document according to policy and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
  • Develops tools and treatments tailored to patient needs.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, hearing, cognitive, or swallowing issues.
  • Under a physician’s direction, provides direct patient / resident treatment based on established plan of care.
  • Screens and evaluates Resident and develops appropriate care plan
  • Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication and / or swallowing or cognitive problems.
  • Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
  • Instructs residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
  • Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
  • Maintains patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.

Education and Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited Masters, or Doctorate in Speech language Pathology.
  • State license as a speech pathologist required.
  • Proficiency with all applicable state, federal, and professional standards
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
