Job summary

Birch Healthcare Center in New York is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech or language disorders, formulating individualized treatment programs.

The role requires state licensure, a Masters or Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology, and the ability to travel as needed to serve SNF residents. You will work under physician direction, documenting care and communicating with residents, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Masters or Doctorate in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• State license in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• Proficiency with applicable state, federal, and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, hearing, cognitive, or swallowing issues.
• Under a physician’s direction, provide direct patient care based on established plan of care.
• Screen and evaluate residents and develop appropriate care plans.
• Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency.
• Administer, score, and interpret specialized hearing and speech tests.
• Instruct residents, families, and caregivers on monitoring speech and practice strategies.
• Complete required forms and documents per company policy and regulations; maintain patient records.
• Devise special tools and treatments for specific patient needs.

Job Summary:

The Speech Pathologist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech or language disorders, formulate individualized treatment programs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, hearing, cognitive, or swallowing issues.
• Under a physician’s direction, provides direct patient / resident treatment based on established plan of care.
• Screens and evaluates Resident and develops appropriate care plan
• Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication and / or swallowing or cognitive problems.
• Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
• Instructs residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
• Maintains patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
• Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.

Education and Experience:
