Join Our Team as a Speech Therapist at Mount Sinai Medical Center

Position Overview: The Speech Language Pathologist will evaluate and rehabilitate patients with speech, language, cognitive, dysphagia, and voice disorders in various settings, including acute care, inpatient, and outpatient rehab. Patients may range from neonatal to geriatrics.

Responsibilities:

1. Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders based on evidence-based practices.
2. Interpret assessment data to develop effective treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
3. Consider patient variables such as age and cognitive status when planning therapy sessions.
4. Communicate progress and relevant information with patients and healthcare team members.
5. Participate in meetings, conferences, and educational activities related to speech-language pathology.
6. Create educational materials for patients, families, and staff; conduct workshops and training sessions.
7. Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with departmental and confidentiality standards.
8. Supervise graduate student clinicians in speech-language pathology programs.
9. Engage in ongoing professional development through literature review and training.
10. Adhere to all departmental policies and utilize required equipment.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Current Florida State SLP License.
• CPR certification.
• Graduate of an accredited Speech Pathology Therapy Program, with willingness to pursue postgraduate education.
