Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME offers a full-time Speech Therapist position in a 250-bed regional hospital. Work schedule is 40 hours per week, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with a sign-on bonus and a competitive compensation package.

Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients with speech, language, cognition, and swallowing disorders, following physician orders, and assisting in program development within CMH's Speech Therapy department.

Formación

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Active license to practice Speech-Language Pathology in the state of employment.
• ASHA CCC-SLP or SLP-CF eligibility, with appropriate supervision if CF.
• At least one year of hospital experience.
• Current BLS for healthcare providers certification.

• Implement and monitor therapy programs as prescribed by a physician; adjust as needed.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning and implementation of treatment for patients demonstrating disorders of speech, language, cognition, swallowing and other services prescribed by a physician. Assists in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs beneficial for the enhancement of the department.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Graduate of an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in speech-language pathology required.

2. Active license to practice speech language pathology in the state of anticipated employment, free of disciplinary action required.

3. Active Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), free of disciplinary action – OR - Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellow (SLP-CFs) to be considered on a case-by-case basis (provided proper supervision can be afforded to the CF) required.

4. At least one year of experience in a hospital setting.

5. Current BLS for healthcare provider’s certification upon hire and maintain current.
