Job summary

Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a per diem Speech-Language Pathologist to join the department. You will evaluate, plan, and implement treatment for patients with speech, language, cognition, and swallowing disorders as prescribed by a physician.

The role includes assisting in developing new and ongoing departmental programs. Qualifications include a master’s degree in speech-language pathology, an active state license, ASHA CCC-SLP or CF eligibility, at least one year of hospital experience,

Qualifications

Overview

Responsibilities

Responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning and implementation of treatment for patients demonstrating disorders of speech, language, cognition, swallowing and other services prescribed by a physician. Assists in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs beneficial for the enhancement of the department.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Graduate of an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in speech-language pathology required.

2. Active license to practice speech language pathology in the state of anticipated employment, free of disciplinary action required.

3. Active Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), free of disciplinary action – OR - Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellow (SLP-CFs) to be considered on a case-by‑case basis (provided proper supervision can be afforded to the CF) required.

4. At least one year of experience in a hospital setting.

5. Current BLS for healthcare provider’s certification upon hire and maintain current.
